All
across the land this morning, last nights rain has sparked new tender green leaves and grasses. Everywhere
you wander is dark and subdued, the wet illuminating the subtle early Spring hues.

3.25.16 Emerge
Over by Kestrel Lane, the rain
had soaked and then fed all things, and, no matter the overcast sky ,the
crimson Maple florets were in full swing, with countless tiny leaves on so much
underbrush , just beginning to emerge.
3.25.16 Sad things
One of
the saddest things I've encountered is when we humans rail against ourselves,
and yearn somehow to have been more than we are. If we consider the forest, or
history, or simply look around, what we discover is that not everyone is
everything. Has everything. Gets to do everything. Accomplishments, fame,
partners, lost weight - if you listen to those humans around you, you discover
that the fantasy list is endless.
Prevalent also are our lies to ourselves. If
I had been better, I would be married now. If I was more gifted, I would have a
huge income. Be published. Be traveling the world over. Be healthy right now.
And so? Our choice. Be kind to yourself, if you want.
The Bathtub Rule? We can either spend our time right now feeling badly about what was not, or we can be filled with feeling such good about who we are and have been.
And so? Our choice. Be kind to yourself, if you want.

3.24.16 Spring is singing quietly
beneath every sleeping pond
Streaking through the vessels of the
towering Oak
Muttering amongst the
Maple's buds, just
Straining to hold back the
fray; the exuberance
Horses at the gate
shifting restless
In their place
In their place
3.24.16 Predilection, or possibility?
It's interesting, going around in the world, to
notice how often people don't notice the graciousness others offer them. It's
almost like, if they don't anticipate it, they don't see when it's happening.
And then they don't get to experience it. And then?
In their perception, the world is as limited
as they suspected.
When I notice these things, or when I offer for
people to go ahead of me or all the other small gracious things we extend to
each other,
I wonder how often my own predilections limit my own possibilities.
3.24.16 Rich worthwhile stuff
Over
time, we learn that so much is gestating below the surface, just beneath our
own notice. Developing within ourselves, within others. Growth takes resources,
makes us a little tired out, a little tried. But the longer we are here, the
easier it is to notice the signs. Of rich worthwhile stuff. Growing.
