7.8.16 Goin down the road

I'm going down this road feeling bad
I'm going down this road feeling bad
I'm going down this road feeling bad, bad, bad
And I ain't gonna be treated this way

 Woody Guthrie

Corn and squash and tobacco and potatoes and strawberries and asparagus and cukes .

7.7.16 Brought to you by

This wet evening brought to us
by storm clouds and vapid wind and unerring rain.

7.7.16 I've taken to joining him at the sink

fresh local peaches in hand, leaning over, smiling and slurping, with the taste.

I'm remembering years ago, before children, when we lay in tall fields, devouring peaches, the fragrant juice streaming everywhere.

7.7.16 Everywhere

Early this morning, down by the river
the plants exploded from the recent rains
as the breeze carried smells
