Oh, that delicious half- moon
so close ; so bright
filled the forest and the yard
in the deep of last night
with brazen moonshadow
It's brilliant spilled light
Woke us all at six
through winter's thick darkness
streaming in the window
through the pale faded curtains
past thin glass panes
our wakened selves
Our eyes open
lying warm and stilled
bathed in
its sight
so close ; so bright
filled the forest and the yard
in the deep of last night
with brazen moonshadow
It's brilliant spilled light
Woke us all at six
through winter's thick darkness
streaming in the window
through the pale faded curtains
past thin glass panes
our wakened selves
Our eyes open
lying warm and stilled
bathed in
its sight
