9.16.14 How Do We Cut Back On Expenses, Yet Really Relish Our Lives?
How do we cut back on expenses and yet really relish our lives?
Down a paycheck. Or one paycheck and stretching.
Cold weather and heating costs lurking around the corner, as always.
Yet, the evening was beautiful.
The third day of a magnificent chili better each reheating.
Fresh broccoli rabe with portabellas and onions and fresh Rosemary.
Brown rice with a touch of quinoa.
A nice sunday of laughing with my brother and talking with a deep dear friend
and meandering all the gardens and woods,
as everything prepares-either for the make-it-or-break-it times,
or the time of restorative deep sleep and dormancy .
As I gather seed heads for next year
and whisper to the plants,
slowly preparing for the killing frost still far off;
and once again,
a grand finale of the warm growing times for all of us,
readying the garden goodbye .
