There are so many things that happen, as we
grow older.
Sometimes you do too much, and end up with a
body that's like a car with a lousy alternator and battery, where you need
5,000 hours recharging to have an hour of energy.
So
today I'm grateful that somehow I get to be a person who can have the tiny
slow days I need, and sometimes, a Fall Over Day, where you get up, do some
things, and then go sleep for many many hours, just doing that recharging thing
so essential to life.
In the meantime, life goes on and clouds do
lovely things and pups race about in and out, til tuckered out a bit and ready
to crawl into the dark bedroom with cats curled about me here and there and one
sweetest old dog slumbering up next to me, the pup's eyes thankfully growing
heavy, til he turns on his back, his sweet long young dog feathers everywhere,
his big pup paws curled and lovely, and we all settle down for a midwinters
sleep.
