Oh, I'm chronic. Doing that springtime gardening thing, where you
look at all
kinds of photos you've save that show all kinds of impossibly cool garden ideas
and plans and structures that you are actually never ever going to manage but
you sit in the la la land for just a bit,
before
actually going out and cleaning up and setting seeds in soil in your study and
covering them and watering them,
all
from plants you grew last year, and then lose track of which is which and go
out and plant the young ones and
try desperately to have the energy to weed as
fast as the stuff comes up while mulching,
til
you call it a truce, and where you are at is where it will be.
And
then you go water water water and feed some and compost some and fine tune some
and
sit a whole lot and watch everything grow and feel the something
coming
up from the emerging power and life that is
the
neighborhood and the microbes and the insects and the land that was there long
ago long
before
you were born
and
you immerse yourself in the wonder that is the garden.
