5.9.15 I'll follow the sun

Last night, after a long day of cleaning and then in-laws, and then gardens, kids and their partners visiting, getting them to lug AC's into windows (for my older-now-cooling-pleasure), a delicious meal brought here and prepared, and wonderful thoughtful gifts, why then, everyone left , and my beloved went to rest. And I caught sight of the earth offering up just the most recent unique light show.

So off I went, on the way to the dog walk along the dry dusty farming roads, to bid goodnight.

Past the town field, where the trees and stream live quietly.

To the Connecticut, where the memory of ice piled path is long gone, and scores come to wander the comforting walkway by the powerful old body of water.

To the farmers fields down past an oxbow, as the river streams by, there behind the trees, and the sun-streams through our atmosphere.

As my flip flops step along the dusty road, as the 2 year old Shepherd mangles the leash in his jaw, shaking his head and muttering fierce fierce things

. As I laugh and yell 'Run! Run!', and he grins his young dog grin, racing back and forth on leash, with wide delight.

As the day completes itself here, and yet begins itself somewhere else, darkness drawing all things around us to a close.
