Today is October, is chilly and windy, with the buffeting
breezes howling, so the young dog wonders what new presence has come on into
town. Here, I am simmering broth with so many onions and leeks and greens and
carrots and parsley and so much more from the garden, to warm the kitchen up
well, the windows fogged, the aroma delicious. After some hours, I'll cool it,
freeze it, and then, why, we'll sip at the garden delights, morning and
evening, building immunity and strength for weeks to come.
