4.10.16 Holding tight

Remember when you were young, and you got away from your babysitter at the fair, and ate too much, and then later on the ferris wheel, way at the top, you just hung on, just could not figure out why anyone would ever do something like this ,to make themselves feel so horrible.
How at that moment, hanging on, you looked up,directly in front of you, far up in the sky as the sunset was approaching and the noises and smells of the fair were being carried up by the smallest late summer breeze.
And there in front of you was such a huge bird, with a white head, peacefully floating by, who just turned to look right at you for one moment, as if they were surprised that such a small human was way up there, in their neighborhood.
And you pulled on the sleeve of the babysitter or brother or whomever was next to you, and they turned from their own thoughts, and said "Huh?"
And in that small moment the bird was long gone.
And the sun eclipsed the horizon, as the darkness fell,
and you cradled your belly instead of holding tight the bar of the cab.
