8.13.16 Little tiny lives

Each evening, around 20 baby Sparrows go to bed by perching on a wire beneath the eaves of the roof out back. They hate being disturbed, and have grown more leery as the Goshawk regularly swoops in low through the yard to grab one to feed their own young one.

If we go out at night to pee the pup, I try to keep my eyes averted, as then they are not concerned, and their little selves with their tiny baby tails remain cozy and sleepy and all nicely put to bed. Course, my husband thinks it's so cute , that he always must look, in which case they become alarmed, flying off into the Sassafras.

I give him a hard time, but he loves those tiny selves in their small young lives, hunkered down to bed.
