with a
beautiful stream I'm fond of, to wander through the meadow, and visit the
quietly flowing waters. The local Grackle flock was about, high in the trees,
and frolicking down in the brook , unhappy with my presence, but remaining in
their beautiful place, on this warm October morning.
I could see all the indentations from deer hooves and coyote and possibly fox pads, as well as the frequently used pathways, which prompts me always to wonder at the social mores of wildlife navigation.
The waters flowed briskly , and seemed for the most part clean, with fish, minnows and frogs. A beautiful thriving ecosystem, hidden in plain sight.
I reveled at the delicate clumps of grasses, at the wide range of berries that will sustain them this winter, as all sorts of birds fluttered about.
As the
filtered sunlight danced across the stream and through the branches, and no
other sound or life was evident there, for awhile.
