6.5.17 And on it goes; humans

There's this odd thing happening
I suspect as a result of smart phones and social make believe media compulsively in use everywhere, and the self-edited life.
So many people work very very hard at appearing as if they are a certain type of person.
What's fascinating is that, in that minuscule moment in the seventies, many of us were filed to the brim with bullshit posturing, with people who wielded their appearance and their power, and yet were empty to talk to.
So to watch people building their appearance as if it was a hobby is chilling. Making sure they 'are someone' who has a fine fine car. Their home. Their clothes and haircut and all.
What they selfie themselves doing. How they make known the pieces of the puzzle of a portrait of somebody they'd like to be known as.
They even congratulate themselves on how well they are creating this profile. And then their profiles, not their selves, interact.
They spend more time working on looking like the person who would want that painting, than being a person who would be moved to want to live with that painting.
This is so far behind buying the painting that matches your drapes. This is like 'look good to get that job or get into that school 401'.
In fact, there seems to be a significant competition as to how much you can appear like the type you've chosen.
But what I wonder is if they are going to notice at some point that they have neglected to grow themselves into that person. That they are not their image.
I wonder at what point they'll notice the difference in days, in lifetime, between positioning yourself to look as if, and being yourself.
