2.21.15 Gratitude for that which embraces us

What a time; a freezing frozen time.

Survival of the fittest, for sure, all over.

And so, we have gratitude for that which embraces us;

heat, clean unfrozen water, warm food, warm clothes.

Doing what we can to offer actual tiny financial help to local places that provide food and shelter, in trying times like these.

If we have enough, and a bit extra, good to pass it on to those good places that will make sure those in need receive the support.

Bright early morn, 6:30 am, new low temperatures,

as the birds and squirrel stream into the feeding area early,

as the crows exalt in new compost.

As we greet a brand new day.

2.20.15 Campbell's Cream of Storm Surprise

Q: What thunderous hell is this?

A: Ha! Ha! Harry Potter and the Streetlight of Chaos?

Some woman making her way home, in the storm,
window open, camera held out for an errant shot, laughing?

Campbell's Cream of Storm Surprise

Any streetlight in a storm

2.20.15 Day Turns The Corner, Into Night

Day turns the corner, into night
as an extravaganza blossoms across the skies of the front yard

Shiva seems to explore on pink snow
the colors changing each minute in the freezing cold.

2.20.15 A winter sky, shifting through wakening trees

2.20.15 Days Just Like Today

We humans love weather.

When it's freezing out, we whine and moan, yearning for summer.

When we hit July mosquitoes and August heat and humidity,

we fantasize about days just like today.

2.20.15 And spilled out across the land

As the last storm began revving up to smash through,
down by the river was swept with the wind's moans,
barely a bit of waters unfrozen; not a creature in sight,
as the snows came driving up the river
and spilled out across the land.
