8.21.15 Well, here we are, all hot and bothered

Long ago ( sweat gasp phew!) and far away. Ok ok, last winter, we were all like "Oooohhh it's so coldddd!"
And " Ohhhhhh it's so Icey with SO much snow !"
And then of course the " Oy vey is mia, WHEN is spring going to come along????!". Well here we are, all hot hot and bothered . Hope you're hot hot enough , and happy.

8.21.15 The Dana Farber Oncologist was fascinated by the Naturopathic solutions that worked so quickly

The Dana Farber Oncologist was fascinated by the restoration of blood platelets in a matter of days , that remained stable , by using the chemo-complementary Herbal Liquid Papaya Leaf ( organic), a capful 2x day, plus Organic Sesame Oil , 1 tbsp 2x day spread on inner arms and inner thighs, suggested by the Oncology Naturopath. So good to be able to restore health and protect against some impacts of chemo, and avoid medications that further stress a liver.

8.20.15 Outside the day is finally cooling, as I pull onions

Outside the day is finally cooling, as I pull onions from the rich garden dirt, my bare feet sinking into the wet , as the sprinkler works hard spewing water overhead, cold fresh well water across the thirsty garden, as a BABY iridescent green Hummingbird comes by , zipping their teeny tiny wings in their own 1 1/2 " meet and greet. "Oh my, aren't you just beautiful!" I say , pushing hair out of my face with dirt smeared fingers, as this smaller version hovers, looking at me ; then zips over to the sprinkler water and then they ,too ,play. Oh my.

8.21.15 Then I turned and whacked him

This morning in the kitchen, I said to my husband "I wish you'd set up for a time for me to work on you, so we'd make it happen."
Then my phone rang, I said to him "Excuse me" and I answered it. It was him. He said " I'd like to make an appointment for an Acupressure session."
I said " Oh... Ok. Let me look at the calendar . I went to the frig and looked, and said  "How about tomorrow morning at 9:30?"
     He replied "Great, Thankyou ."
Then I turned and whacked him and we laughed and laughed. It's really the small things.

A few years ago I was sitting talking with a very well respected Radiologist, who told me they thought we should have no more than one X-ray in a lifetime. Really. Sometimes when I'm hanging out with people who care for those with cancer, or have cancer, they talk about why on earth they don't get to have MORE CT scans or PET scans, to find things out. I really wonder then if they have access to the internet, and have ever read the AMA's concerns or anyone elses, about the wonderful information we access with scans, versus the very real probability of creating new cancers as a result of exposing vulnerable tissue to radiography. It certainly is a balancing act.

8.20.15 Since you asked...blood tests

Since you asked...Yes, blood tests and other tests are valuable. But just think about it for a minute. Ten years ago, twenty, our science had nailed some testing and not others. Sixty years ago we X-rayed infants thymuses because 'we' thought they were overdeveloped (big oops). Ten years ago every woman was pressured to be on HRT to protect their heart, and protect them from breast cancer, til the early results came in and it turned out it promoted the probability of both. Now we have testing that in some ways is pretty amazing. It will be more amazing in five years, and ten, etc. In the meantime, it does not measure everything. Can we stop for a second and get the logic of that? Tests measure some things very well.
They don't tell us if everything is a-o-k, or if something lousy is coming down the pike. The year before someone gets a very serious cancer diagnosis, their blood work is often peachy. Even a few months before.
Blood work does not measure SUBCLINICAL conditions or challenges. So for every health challenge, or eventually 'condition', there is a period of time when it is developing in seriousness, and nothing is showing up.
Most probably as time goes on, testing will become more and more intricate (and oftentimes more invasive, so its a good idea to motivate yourself to find out the estimated cost of any particular testing.)
