The towering Oak births Maitake mushrooms some years, remarkable herbs.
So this fall I brought one of two Reishi, miracle birth and all,
from Umass to the Oak, and it has happily settled in ,
through subzero and spring weather and last night's small dusting of snow.
See how magnificent they both are, really
- the broad Oak with its bright winter moss;
and the royal Reishi, almost magenta, so dark.
To prepare the Reishi in my formulas for my herb company,
you purchase organic Reishi slices,
cook half of them ,
then soak the other half in a crock pot of tea for three days or so ,
til the tea is reabsorbed, then you dry the herb, grind it,
and presto- powerful powdered gold for your health.
Ah, royal Reishi.
