5.31.15 The adolescent Coyote- "To heck with all that..."

Saturday I was up early, worry thrumming through the neighborhood. So some meditation, some EFT nicely situated, and some mindfulness, watching stuff come up from the stream, through me with feeling, and on its way. Then off I went to walk the pup early, down through the old neighborhoods with the town greens, where livestock grazed and fairs played. Opening up life to the big scale of all things, of the broad morning sky, the seasonal changes, the brisk air, the others who live here with us.

On the way home, I caught sight of an adolescent Coyote, standing in a field. I pulled over to quietly watch, not wanting to prompt them to danger , what with the 7 am cars beginning to roll by. But they waited til there was a gap, then boom, off they raced across the road, all ignoring what their parents told them about humans and morning light and safety. " To heck with all that" they murmured to themselves, gracefully loping through the back yard, salivating, on to the haven of the Wild Turkey flock.
