Slowly, almost imperceptibly, we
wake up to our own aging.
No gate pushed aside as we stride through,
nor the announcement of bells and whistles, but rather the slow and anticipated
shifting that occurs within us all.
We begin to realize that it is to our
advantage to hone our capacity to adapt to change, to embrace as unequivocally
as we can who we are, and have been, in our time here.
We watch ourselves compost the moments of
our lives.
As we live each new day, what with its
delight and disappointment, its unique challenges and then all those remarkable
awakenings.
