When we were younger, perhaps setting off into
the world on our own if we could, and then as we slowly became older, we did
the best we could figuring things out.
Learning to be with who we are.
Learning to untangle the small messes and wounds and injuries, so that we could manage.
Growing older, we often develop health problems. Slowly there are infirmities, that challenge us, eventually to our very core.
All these tangled up places become heavier. More complex. They take a far greater toll on us.
On our reactivity. On our relationships. On our health. On the very way we live. The way in which we are able to fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning.
On the manner in which we engage with others, or perhaps have children, as we each make our way in the world.
And so it becomes more and more evident, as we age, the value both of being with who are are right now , as peacefully and lovingly as possible.
And then doing what we can, with mindfulness. With EFT. With self-care. With any other tools we come upon, that fit us, and well.
For no matter how difficult this is, no matter how sometimes we struggle even to remain here, so too it is always such a precious thing.
