6.24.16 Thunderstruck thick

Today, I sat out with an old friend, as the breeze blew and the field glistened with shorn grasses and white topped clover, as we sat there drinking lemons-in-water.

Tonight I stood in the same place,in the moonless night, alone, pitch black, not one mosquito, with only the bedroom light shining within.

I saw the faint silhouette of tree line separating us from the vast night skies,
thunderstruck thick with shining stars, and the loud hoot of one persistent owl.
