The dew is growing heavier
, and in lieu of rain, actually enables plants, and therefore insects, to
manage each day, by this small wet revival come night.
The air is bright, cast
sideways from summer sun, blazing light
and color on all things.
As we near the river,
Dante leaps and bounces with delight, sniffing out where foxes and coyote and
deer went all last night.
