Tonight is a time of great and good happiness.
Because
despite this country being embroiled in a continuing official effort to harm
the Indigenous Peoples whose land we stole and far more, and caught up in a
listless corrupt presidential election replete with lies, still the rain is
falling gently from the skies, finally, once again.
So the large snake skitters
by happily on the wet grass, and unlike the rest of the summer, the lovely
delicate tree toads are out in the forest singing their hearts full.
The
crickets and cicada contribute to the chorus of divine happiness , while
insects finally begin to propagate and birds ruffle their feathers with relief
and delight in the cool rainfall. Toads finally come out of their dry burrows
and all the life down by the river's outwaters sighs with unabashed relief.
