12.13.14 Bad or good news first? Okay; bad, then good.
Bad or good news first? Okay; bad, then good.
My beloved encouraged me to really look at her leg, and I discovered the femur snapped in half at one time, no vet saw the dog or set the break, and it healed very badly. You can imagine the pain. No wonder she can use it a bit in the am, and then it just gives out.Sigh. Then the pregnancy. I won't assume, but I wonder if while brought hunting here after thanksgiving , she couldn't keep up ; or they knew she was no use hunting, and left her here.
The great news? The three neighbors who saw her and worried and are so happy I trapped her and am willing to have pee pee pads covering my living room floor- came by today and offered to buy some of the (high end) food I've been feeding the dogs, and more pads- and the woman found a friend who wants to pay for a vet visit .
She's even going to drive Gemma there, and come by often and do Reiki on her, help her learn not to be afraid to go outside , and help make flyers and help find a fine new home.
The other neighbor is going to buy a harness so Gemma can safely learn to go outside again. And is going to open a FB page to try to raise money for surgery on the leg. Phew. So many people, so touched by all she's been through.
And they love meeting her. What a relief. She even barked for the first time, after they left, a good sign. So yeah, the load is lightened.
They're all praying for a wonderful new home, and doing things to make it possible. Interesting how our world is filled with unknown humans and living things in need; and how much of a relief it is , to do small manageable things to make things better.
Myself, I think of the cost of surgery, and how much I'd like that to go to Pine Ridge or Heifer, etc. But it is what it is, and I'm simply grateful as all get out.
