10.8.16 I mean, really.

Oh goodness.
How can you ever wash a long coat dog who soaks in mud puddles so happily every day? I mean, really.

Get cold and drowsy
sleep
wake
feed
let the sun's rays warm you
get on with your day

10.5.16 Sometimes

we live for the moment when we stumble upon small unnoticed places of such beauty

10.5.16 Who are you

Who we choose to be in the world
becomes the life in which we reside.

10.5.16 A little rest

I love the dark days. I love the gray days.
Everything is so subdued, the colors subtle and true.
Sounds muffled, activity quieted.
It's as if everything around you is simply taking a little rest.
A small moment of pause.

10.4.16 Once upon a time

She was writing the ending.
She was bringing the characters back home.
There was no more longing,
just an overall sense of serenity.
Where to begin, she tells him,
what's the problem.
It's all for naught.
Without a knock-out first line,
She knows this from Charlie.
Every story lives or dies on where you start.
Once upon a time,
and a very good time it was
all this happened, more or less.
It was love at first light.
It was truth universally acknowledged.
It was a dark and stormy night.

10.4.16 All around you

There's this marsh beside the long mall where Stop and Shop is.
These days it's marshland, and the buildings would never get a permit.
It's all junky with asphalt and so many stores spraying their pesticides all the time that go into the poor land.
And yet, there's this beautiful ecosystem tucked in there, that no one notices.
People are always saying they wish they lived somewhere beautiful like where I live.
Well, I am in the country and much is beautiful , but all around you are these majestic surviving places of wildlife and steadfast survival.

10,3,16 The smallest rainbow in the world set up shop at the end of my driveway

Today we were visited by some

Life lives and breathes

The smallest rainbow in the world took up shop at the end of my driveway, during quite the torrential downpour. I looked at it happily for awhile and then drove right under it.
Big pot of happiness it had.

10.3.16 All of our lessons

and discoveries, our surprises and disappointments, all those risks and delights, they all really mirror our own lives.
Our own ability to have common sense or make decisions.
To develop the capacity to have a decent learning curve.
