3.8.15 Sometime Later

This early morning early the air was fine
for slippers and nightgowns, as birds sang and wooed each other, and our star sank behind clouds, then reappeared, startling the land with its golden light.

Sometime later when it became clear it was International Women's Day and daylight savings and Sunday and all sorts of other things, as I scrubbed the stove and fed four footeds and worked on a chapter and watched the doves outside on the tall Maple branches. The sun shone as snowflakes fell from the sky, filling the neighborhood.

As the birds fed and chattered, and somewhere off in the woods the little boy Possum began his day.
