I
came home to find him outside in the grass, on his back, hanging out with our
sweet neighbors and their baby, as the day came to a close. After the next door
family went back inside and I put away dinner groceries, I went back out, and
lay on my back in the cool damp grass by him, our sides touching. Silent. As
the cloud formations streamed by, and jets, and groups of birds, their stark
outlines black against the evening sky. We lay there and talked quietly, and
everything was at rest and in love.
