7.5.16 This morning we woke

to rain pattering down, upon the house,
upon the land . An Indigenous person from this area once repeated that native wisdom: that they never thought to resent rain. That rain was life giving and gave them their food, and the sustenance of all other living beings depended upon the rain.
They wondered in confusion how anyone could be either so assured of their supplies , so oblivious to the needs of others, or so lacking in wisdom as to take the blessed rains for granted.
