2.6.17 This life, these connections

It was a cold February day; not the kind of February day that freezes ponds and rivers and even oceans tight, but still qualifying.
We had a family dog with a mishap, so we waited on pins and needles for surgery to go ok, and it d$d.
We waited for our kid to be ok enough, and it seems they were.
The farmers fields and river were snappy chilled, coyote and fox prints wherever you looked, finding their winter meals, making their way.
Far above, near our home, soared an eagle, searching out breakfast down along the river.
Out at my friends'  big beautiful practice, we talked life and family and healing strategies, while we had tears and then laughed, all the gifts flowing both ways .
Back home, the guy was pooped and so was I , waiting the final dog update from CT.
So we threw together a bean and sprouts dinner, watched an old CSI on Netflixs ,while competing to see who could ridicule the action best.
Outside, it is now a freezing cold night , all my neighbor birds well fed from the feeder table, my puffball squirrels too.
Life tangles and untangles. We stumble, sometimes to catch ourselves, other times to fall. To learn how best to untangle, to keep watch for the next tripping place.
To stay clear and cool out and celebrate when we sleep a bit better.
And give our thanks for this life and these connections and this day we are given .
