3.10.17 You can.

There sometimes are just those moments, where no one is with you or under your care or due your cordiality, and you have your moment to yourself. No babies to keep track of or distressed adolescent clients.
Or fathers-in-law miss missing their gone wife now and ambivalent about being here at all.
Or old good friends who seem loud and self absorbed nowadays, and are somehow along for the ride, for whom nothing is right and all things seem their due, and their constant unhappiness fills the air til you struggle to take one breath.
But growing older is the balm. It is. Because if
you want, and I do want, you can begin to shape your days in ways you didn't foresee as possible.
In ways the women in your family did not feel allowed, and the men in your family knew not the ways of.
You can turn down invitations with some and strike up casual conversations with others, and just wait and see what flies.
You can go off on your own , on a subway or a walk downtown or in a car, with your own silence or song or laughter your own best friend.
