Sad news. Gemma was brought in to a vet who wanted to see her right away , by the wonderful visiting neighbor, and her friend who offered to pay for the vet . Turned out her leg was a terrible break , not healed, near the femoral artery, amputation a $2000 price tag , no local places could pick up the tab, and the only option was euthanizing her.
So here's what I am grateful for.
Getting to trap and save and feed and love her all up, having neighbors do the same , having someone I don't even know insist on paying for and going to the vet appt, a vet who insisted on seeing her immediately, two wonderful people who could sit with her while she died, and my heart and many others filled with the joy of knowing such a bright, smart, tenacious, brave, loving, sweet shining star.
