Our Coyote population has
been undergoing big changes, with mild Springs that usually limit the number of
surviving pups, and human crowding , crowding them out of their traditional
territories. Too many mouths to feed, not enough land.
Tonight I walked the dog
out back at dusk, and there halfway down the field was a yearling Coyote, standing,
watching.
Every night they come around, near our compost, near the chicken coop
down the street that no longer holds chickens, sussing out survival related
possible food sources.
Big changes in behaviors, as they feel the need nightly
to call and growl and howl , protecting their own survival.
