2.27.17 Down on Kestrel Lane

Here on Kestrel Lane , the recent rains have melted all the snow, which is filling pockets with small ponds and puddles, everywhere about. A time of great drinking and nourishment for all the living things.
The buds on the trees are slowly emerging, growing larger every day as the days lengthen, as the temperature warms, all the signs of spring.
Overhead, the sky is overcast with pattered clouds, the true blue of the heavens that surround us showing through here and there.
So I stand here, as a small almost-March wind puffs on by. Sending the remaining Oak and Beech leaves shimmering in the early morning light.
And I soak in the realization that all species have known, at heart, from the beginning.
Which is that,no matter what choices the humans make, no matter what sorts of times these are for us,or for the sustainability of other species, still we can rest in the remarkable beauty of the day.
