6.18.15 Re: Cancer and Cultural Magical Thinking

I am taken aback by the way we, in this culture, imperially insist upon ignoring the feedback from our bodies while insisting that we deserve to have someone invent a magic pill for cancer.

So we can ignore the preceding signs of distress, keep doing what we want, be so surprised when we or our loved ones get a difficult diagnosis, and want an overriding magic bullet that will just make it go away.

How odd that we become so ANGRY at our bodies, as if a seriously challenged liver or breast or knee us someone separate than us, to be blamed ? As if these are not seriously distressed places in our bodies that finally gave way.

It simply doesn't work like that . It's so much magical thinking . It's not like we only need to stop and REALLY take care of ourselves if some low- oil -red-light goes on.
It's not like we can get treacherously intense cancer treatment and then close our eyes and not deal assiduously with how to clean out the resulting toxicity and heal the tissues and work effectively to rebalance what was off , that predisposed us.

This standing and doing the same risky stuff and hope hope hope we end up ok makes no sense and does not work well.
