9.28.15 To see what is possible

It’s always interesting how distressing exhaustion and overwhelm are. Which is horrible to experience, and yet brilliant of our physiology, and our genetic heritage.
The misery is a tipping point, with its insistence that we stop as much as is humanly possible, in our circumstances, and restore ourselves as much as can still happen.
Of course, sometimes when continual health challenges persist and become more complex and harmful to our bodies, the restoration prevents some, but not all, further deterioration, and all we begin to notice is the shock and new normal of living with such symptoms, conditions, and severely constrained abilities.
It is then that, if we can muster the commitment to see what is possible, to prevent further snowballing worsening, that we study how the heck to use mindfulness, no matter our misery, to digest this impossibly difficult circumstance, so that our distress is not the thing that makes it all much worse.
And so that, if we have loved ones around, we can manage to somehow know them and delight in them and grow closeness with them that is unrelated to the incessant noisy grave difficulty of our health.
