9.27.16 Right up alongside

It's so funny, right? I mean, there you are, just standing there, and the emerald green path just extends back until you can't see it anymore, and there are shaded places, and then lit sunny places, all along the way, and vines extending from the woods along the sides, or up into the trees.
There's a fence alongside both right and left, with fields behind the shade.
And telltale signs of all kinds of wildlife all along Kestrel Lane.
And as the fall wind blows, the limbs far overhead wave in the breeze, and the dappled light moves about down below, revealing and then obscuring into shadow once again, all these small places all along the lane.
The light hits the puddles here and there, and reflected light casts it's shimmer upon sunlit places and darkness and crisp light leaves upon the ground.
It's all so alive, quietly there, with no one but yourself and the spiders preparing for winter , and small creatures and resident birds and toads going about their day, in their small precious lives, right up alongside.
