5.6.16 Some beautiful wakened large enough wild thing

Here, we live in the country, high on the edge of a modest mountain range, surrounded by a river, the forests, and a few conservation fields.
In the night if you wake to pee, you crawl out of the warm comforting bed, make your careful way in the darkness past the huge sleeping black Shepherd, past the doorway and down into the dark hall,
and you might glance out into the pervasive darkness , and at times the next door neighbor's motion detecting out back light will have been pushed on, by some wild someone.
Raccoon? Possum ? Coyote? Bear? Deer? Fisher?
So that , deep in the night , if you forget for a moment your desperate devotion to accumulated sleep , you may find yourself pausing in the cold footed darkness of your hallway on the small stairs between bathroom and the bedroom
where the beloved and the space pigging cats and the snorfling Shepherd upon his bed on the floor are all blissfully passed out,
and you might find yourself leaning on the wall, peering out the night window way through the trees to the yard not close by,
hoping to catch sight of the someone who just went by ,
some beautiful wakened large enough wild thing.
