8.19.15 Slowly we notice those signs of the coming fruition.

Slowly we notice those signs, of the coming fruition . Acorns are strewn upon the ground this morning , and even as we soak up summer in this August and September, still, the squirrels in their bones know the way of it.
The squirrels know as they begin to gather, the Maples know as they quietly set seed, and soon all the various growing things will begin to ensure their progeny , for this is what living things do.
The spiders all about my eaves assiduously spinning their egg sacs for the young they may or may not see, but will protect for as long as they are here .
The innocent crop of growing baby birds, who sense even in these hot dry days that something shifts.
Already the light is changing, in the sky, across the land , as the morning dew most of all tells the tale: of coming harvest and ripening , and eventually , the winter's rest and time of rejuvenation and sleep .
